Introduction
Digital media can be used by teacher and pupils.
Teachers can use it to raise interest, show rather than tell, annotate, brainstorm, stimulate and more.
Pupils can create or use existing sources to evidence, report on and consolidate learning.
Aims: Participants will learn how digital photos, movies and audio can be used to enhance many aspects of teaching and learning.
Content: Using a wide variety of software, participants will learn how they and their pupils can create digital media for use in the classroom. The couse will cover discussion of media across the curriclum and levels with reference to cross curricular topics such as 'The Very Important Bear',and examples of simple and extended use that can be adaped for all ages and stages.
Notes: Participants should have basic computing skills. Course will be Apple mac based but concepts are transferable to other platforms.
We will hopefully be covering a lot of ground, the course will not be enough for you to master the software without out further exploration on your own.
For the purpose of this course we are considering: images, video and audio as digital media.
Most of the example are from primary teaching, but hopefully can be adapted across stage and curricular area.
