STV Appeal September 2011

Coatbridge High School raised money by getting some senior pupils and a special few teachers to have their legs and chest waxed for charity. Two people even got all their hair shaved off!
The two special people who got their head shaved were Allan Cunningham and Mr McMullen.
One man got his chest waxed and his name was John Shepherd of S6. He got a big square waxed from his chest. Ouch! . . . that must have been painful.

Then a lucky four senior pupils along with Miss Barclay and Mr Stibbs got to present the cheque to Michelle McManus at the live STV Appeal event. We raised £1000 from Coatbridge High School and helped a lot of Scotland's children. Well done everyone!

Teams of Staff and Pupils faced off against each other, with no holds barred, and the resulting competition was hard fought but always played in a sporting manner.
All competitors and spectators thoroughly enjoyed taking part in this event and despite a valiant effort by the pupils, the Staff team won the overall competition by three events to two.

Everyone who attended had a wonderful time and agreed that it was a fitting end to another successful year at Coatbridge High School.

Burns Supper-January 2010

Once again, The pupils and Staff of Coatbridge High staged an outstanding Burns Supper event for Parents, Staff and pupils in the Assembly Hall on the evening of Thursday 28th January, 2010. This annual event featured traditional poems and songs from the famous poet.

Staff and pupils put on a great night featuring some of his well known works such as, the Selkirk Grace, a toast to both the Lassies and Ladies, To A Mouse and of course the Address To The Haggis (which was delicious!) An ensemble choir of children from our surrounding primary schools performed some traditional Scottish songs. Congratulations to all who performed and helped to create a wonderful evening of entertainment.

CHS Christmas Talent Show

On Friday 18th Dec 2009, Coatbridge High pupils and staff gathered to watch the cream of the finest talent available in the school take part in a music and dance extravaganza! A brilliant time was had by all and, of course, it was a fitting farewell to the famous Bubblewrap Dolls, who once again treated the audience to a virtuoso dance performance! Enjoy for yourself the highlights of this great CHS occasion. The show was brought to a close by two stunning staff performances....the male staff tribute to Take That,.....'Take This' wowed the crowd with the massive hit "Back for Good".
The show finale was a Staff group performing the Band Aid single "Do They Know It's Christmas". A fitting climax to a wonderful show. All the profits from the show, including the sale of the show DVD, were split between the four school house charities. Well done to everyone who contributed!
